Welcome to Sheffield's premier croquet club!

We are open for play from 1st April until 30th September.

We run weekly pay-and-play sessions open to the public - see https://pay-and-play-croquet-sheffield.eventbrite.co.uk/ for details and to book a slot.

Contact us if you wish to try croquet at a club session - all equipment is sanitised before play, and there is minimal contact with any equipment except the mallet you are playing with.

Sheffield Croquet Club

Formed in 2013, Sheffield Croquet Club are based at Hillsborough Park Bowling Club, Middlewood Road, Sheffield.  We have exclusive use of one of the large bowling greens.

New members are welcome; don’t worry if you've never played before!  The club will provide all the equipment you will need, and our coaches will provide initial training.

You can come along to any of our normal club sessions, and try your hand under the guidance of one of our more experienced players. Or book a bespoke session with friends and family - see About Us

Croquet is a sport for everyone

Croquet can be played by all ages, and men and women play on equal terms.  Croquet offers something different; it is a open-air sport that does not require extreme fitness.  Playing croquet provides opportunities to meet people, and can be as competitive as you want to make it!

Croquet is often caricatured as being a genteel game played on the lawns of Victorian vicarages.  Today, nothing could be further from the truth.  It is a sport which requires hand-eye co-ordination, precision, delicacy of touch and tactics. See About Croquet.
