Twelve  members of Wadsley WI came to the lawn of Sheffield croquet club in Hillsborough. After a brief explanation of how to strike the ball and an explanation of the rules and procedures the WI members ladies were given a chance to practice before commencing in a great sociable competition. Six teams of two players took part in a round robin league organised by club member Jayne Spaven.  Congratulations to the winning team of Margaret Long and Ann Page.

Charity One-Ball Competition 6th April 2024

The weather gods smiled down on the entrants for the third annual charity one-ball competition at Hillsborough Park as play took place on a breezy but thankfully dry day. The entrants were looking to shake off any close season rustiness by battling against each other in a gentle competition at the start of the season.

The event was won by Dean Morton, who thereby qualifies to represent our club in the area heats in Nottingham later in the year, but the main winner was the British Heart Foundation, as we were able to raise £50 on their behalf on the day.
