We were victorious in every Yorkshire Croquet Federation (YCF) competition we entered, winning the short lawn AC league, the full lawn AC league and the handicap GC league. See League Results for details.

Millennium Cup win at YCF Short Lawn Tournament

5 clubs took part and good weather throughout the day made it a joy to play. York Club were excellent hosts and organisers and every thing went to plan. The winners of the Millennium Cup were Shefferley (an amalgamated club of Sheffield and Beverley Players) and the Armada Plate was won by Adrian Simmerson.

Inaugural Club Internal Leagues

We launched the Club's first ever internal competitions - a handicap play AC league and a handicap GC league.

The handicap AC competition was won by Maggie, and the handicap GC league was won by Dennis.

The 2016 AC Inter-Counties Croquet Championship

Eugene was also in action at the AC Inter-Counties Croquet Championship over the late May bank holiday weekend, representing Middlesex in Division 1.

Eugene at the Association Croquet World Championships in Florida!

Eugene competed at the 2016 Association Croquet World Championships, held at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida in April 2016. He came through 11 rounds of qualifying to clinch the final qualifying place for the 80 player main event. It was a fantastic opportunity for Eugene to test himself against the top players in the world. Sadly, Eugene did not qualify from his blocks for the main last-32 knockout, but he improved his performance in the Plate - the consolation event. The event was won by 62 year old Stephen Mulliner of Surbiton Croquet Club.

Other tournaments

Eugene has been selected to play for the English Croquet Association (CA) vs the Croquet Association of Ireland (CAI) over 20-21 August, 2016, and also the CA vs Scottish Croquet Association (SCA) match over 3-4 September this year. Best of luck to him!
